Summer is just around the corner and so it’s time to get your garden ready! We’re here with some simple tips that don’t cost much but can transform your garden space so you’re wanting to spend time in it whenever the sun comes out, from your plant hire options through to the plants you should choose. Having a nice clear garden that looks wonderful can transform how you see your home, so get planning some time and then put it aside to help you make the changes you want to!
Have A Good Clear Out!
The very first thing you should do is have a good clear out in your garden, as this will then help you to identify what actually needs to be done in terms of any work. When there are weeds everywhere, bushes are overgrown and the tiles are all dirty, it can be easy to want to do a huge and expensive overhaul, yet this might not be what you need. So, start by mowing your lawn, removing any weeds, trimming all of the bushes, jet washing your fences, patio and garden furniture, then putting anything away that shouldn’t be out in the garden. At this point, you can see what actually needs to be done, for example you may need dumper hire to dig out a certain part of your garden but realise that you don’t need any new patio tiles!
Plant Native and Wild Plants
Next up, it’s time to focus on your flower beds. Choosing native and wild plants is the cheapest option, it’s best for the environment as transportation is limited, they require less water and they also support the local wildlife, particularly helping pollinators to thrive which will help the environment and your garden! You can either get more established plants or sow seeds yourself in the spring time and watch the plants thrive. Not to mention, they look absolutely stunning in any garden, which only adds to all the other benefits.
Paint and Treat Fences
We all know how much old looking fences can bring down the look of your garden, so you should jet wash, paint and treat your fences and it can transform the whole garden! On a nice warm day, jet wash all of the fences to remove any dirt or moss buildup. When it’s fully dry a few days later and when the weather is going to be dry, you should paint the fences. Often the paints will have a treatment and sealant within it, so you don’t have to worry about using lots of different products. Whether you go for a natural wood colour or something more modern like a grey, we’re sure this will help you to fall in love with your garden again. Finish the fences off with things like a bird house and some solar lights to frame your garden in a beautiful way. The smallest things can make a big difference when it comes to your garden!
